weird lay out problems

Can anybody tell me why the lay-out on my LJ is all over the place the last few days? Is it just me or is anyone else having problems? It's mostly the friends page, but sometimes I can not even log in, because it's just nowhere to be found.

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to answer these questions about yourself.
I won't tag anyone, but if you read this and want to do it, I would be interested to read it.

1. What is one of the most embarrassing things that has ever happened to you?
Calling my boyfriend by the name of my ex, repeatedly. Luckily, not in bed.

2. What is one guilty pleasure that you indulge in?
Playing stupid arcade computer games, meant for bored housewives. I shoot a mean bubble.

3. What was your favorite show as a child?
Skippy, Flipper, Lassie and The Dukes of Hazard. Well, that had a dog!

4. How much time a day do you spend on Facebook?
None whatsoever. We have our own version of it in Holland, called Hyves, which I also never use.

5. How old were you when you fell in love for the first time?
Around twelve. It was one of the boys in my street, he had red hair, which I loved, but I was too clever for him. I wonder if he's on Hyves.

6. Do you collect anything?
Nope, not really.

7. What is your favorite song?
'Boys of summer' by Don Henley. I can't explain why, it's the only song by him I like, but from the very first time I heard it, I fell in love with it. Something to do with the melancholy I think.

8. Have you ever written a sappy love poem?
Absolutely, but it must have been more than 20 years ago.

9. How different is your adult life from what you imagined it to be at 16?
At sixteen, I had no idea what I wanted from life, and I still don't really. I do remember from that time that I was obsessed with everything British and the English language, so that has just changed to someone British.

10. If you could stay any age for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I think about 25, those were good years. I sort of figured out who I was by then, and had so much freedom. First own house, first job, first real love. Yeah, 25.

Dutch songs and singers

I spent hours chosing my favorite Dutch songs and singers, which was fun but impossible. I don't know if I will be able to convince the world, but  I love posting these.

I love these songs )

Finally, today felt like the first day of spring and I saw a ladybug for the first time this year. In Dutch this is called a lieveheersbeestje. Isn't that a great word? It means ourdearlord's bug.  In my own little town we call it a koekediefje, which means cookiethief. No idea why, really.

Also, could  one of you explain very, very slowly how I can post YouTube clips here?  I want to show you some of my favorite Dutch songs/singers, just to hear if these songs come across if you don't understand a word of what they're singing. And because I love these people so much.

Can I cut it? Yes, I can.

[info]verbal_kint10made me do this.

A)People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blog. Replace any question that they dislike with a new, original question if you're a pussy.

B) Tag eight people.
I don't even know 8 people, so I won't do that. Pathetic, really

first LJ cut ever )

A few weeks ago I went to a lecture by an american doctor who spoke about medical mistakes and the way they are handled by patients and, more importantly, by the physicians who made them. He stressed the importance of talking about what went wrong, to learn from the experience but also to acknowledge the emotions of both patient and doctor.

Fascinating stuff and an inspiring speaker. Take a look at their site if you're interested www.mitss.org/.

Of course it made me think about the way the doctors in House deal with this,  like Lupe and the guy with the dog.

Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage, and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.
